About Leo
Saldanha:
Leo Saldanha is coordinator and co-founder of the
Environment Support Group in Bangalore, India. He is a researcher, analyst
and activist working for more than a decade with local groups in the state
of Karnataka in raising critical concerns about the physical and social
costs of large-scale industrialization in environmentally sensitive regions of
the State. At the talk he will share his knowledge and experiences with
us.
Leo is also an AID Saathi, which means AID considers
the issues that he works on and his contributions important and is supporting
him for a limited time.
The Environment Support Group, is a registered, not-for-profit organization consisting of activists, researchers, lawyers and academicians based in Bangalore, who work directly with civil society groups and local village communities in their struggles for justice, development and a safe environment by extending research, advocacy and legal support in the region of Karnataka.
