The teachers reside in the respective villages of their school. On 8th and
9th Oct 2002 two day training was given for them in Laya Training center,
Jalampalle panchayat of V.Madugula mandal. In the training they were
enlightened on songs, different types of games, education through games etc.

Mr. A.Siva Prasad works as the coordinator of schools. He did his graduation
in Science and has been supervising for one year the four schools organised
by P.S.V.S (Praja Sakthi Vidya Sangham, Avanigadda, Krishna District). He
participated in the training session conducted by P.S.V.S.

We have organised a meeting on 22nd November, 2002 and 23rd November, 2002
with teachers in Kamakutam villages Mr.Siva Prasad was hospitalized, and
would not be in the district from 29th November, 2002 to 9th December, 2002.

Alphabet, numbers, multiplication tables etc are taught in the schools. Ms.
P.Durga, teacher, Vasamamidi and Mr. Pandanna, teacher, Bangarubuddi could
not attend school owing to their ill health. As there are only 12 students
in Gurralagondi, we decided to shift the school to Vedurupalli village.

It was resolved in the past itself that with the cooperation of people,
schools with forest grass should be constructed. Schools were constructed in
two villages (Jerralu and Nethulabanda). In the remaining places villagers
have allocated site for school. All the schools will be taking the final
shape by the end of January 2003.

Salary of a teacher is fixed at Rs.1200/- per month (Rs.1500/- as in
budget). It was decided to give increments to those teachers who work as per
the following norms / indicators. They are.

·        School working days

·        Attendance of Students

·        Learning of Local Language

·        Methods of teaching at school

·        Creativity and innovation of new songs and games

·        Construction of School

·        Relations of teacher with local people

·        Role of teacher in getting the dropouts and absenting students to school

·        Peoples' participation in getting resources.

·        Response of teacher to the problems of the villagers community.

·        Teachers' behavior with women

·        Cultural Activities.

The teachers' progress / work will be evaluated as per the above indicators
and incentives are granted.

The teachers conducted survey of their village and submitted the details
discussions on how far the problems identified by the teacher could be
solved within his purview were made.

The attendance registers were inspected village wise and the children
absented from school for more days were identified. In every school there
are 5 to 8 such children. It was determined that where a student does not
turn up to school consequently for two days, the teacher should visit his
home and talk to the parents over the matter.

It was also resolved to design a cultural programme that lasts for about 45
minutes with some students, a stage the programme in those schools in cities
before rich children and raise funds and donations.

We enclose a table showing the particulars of schools.

Since the teacher Ms. P. Chintalli, Gemmalacharu could not attend the meeting owing to her ill health, those details are not received.

As the area is highly Malaria-prone, teachers are also attacked by the
fever. Arrangements are being made for paramedical training.
